The weak feeling of Northern grey skies was an inspiration to enhance daylight rays. How can we interact more with daylight’s qualities and flaws in the built environment?
Because of a matter of practicality and economy, most of the buildings that have been constructed the past century are standardized. The way light comes inside a building has become ordinary. Rethinking the ordinary window blind, Blind Shift adapts to an already existing infrastructure in order to make the indoor spaces more alive. Daylight is full of variations; depending on the time of the day, the season or the weather, it can offer different colors, intensity and feelings.
Through experimentations with translucent materials and refraction of light, Océane looked for a way to make a subtle change on the light, keeping it pleasant and suitable for interiors.
